In communities across Nepal, families are separated—not by choice, but by survival. Labor migration takes parents far from home, leaving women to shoulder the burden and children to grow up without the love and stability they need.

This painful truth led to the birth of Global Maheela—a social business committed to keeping families together.
Rather than relying on foreign labor, we help women and youth build local livelihoods through handmade products, digital skills, health support, and global access. Our artisans are more than workers—they are community builders, leaders, and entrepreneurs.
Today, Global Maheela is not just a platform, but a movement rooted in dignity, sustainability, and the belief that no one should have to leave home to survive.
Our Vision
At Global Maheela, we believe true empowerment starts at the root level. We focus on two key areas of support:
- Families of labor migrants – Women and families often face financial uncertainty when loved ones go abroad for work. Many never return or return broken, leaving families to navigate life alone. These families need resources, skills, and guidance to create a stable future.
- Young entrepreneurs who grew up in care facilities – Many young individuals who grow up in care environments face challenges when transitioning to adulthood, often lacking financial security, technical skills, and a strong support network. Global Maheela is here to bridge that gap by offering training, market access, and hands-on business support to help them thrive and build sustainable futures.

Our mission is both simple yet impactful
To empower families affected by labor migration by providing job opportunities, skill-building, and access to global markets. We create pathways toward financial independence, ensuring children are never left hungry, deprived of love, or separated from their families.
What We Do
- Market access – We provide a platform where families can showcase their handmade product—textiles, jewelry, organic herbs, and more—directly to global markets, reducing the need for labor migration.
- Business and digital skills – We equip families with the skills needed to run sustainable businesses and access the digital economy.
- Sustainable livelihoods – We help families create long-term financial stability by building skills, creating income opportunities, and promoting overall well-being. This includes community health camps, mental health awareness programs, and practical support—because a sustainable business starts with a healthy life
- Youth empowerment – We focus on empowering youth raised in difficult circumstances, providing them with the tools to create their own businesses and build better futures.
